Inauguration of Nature Club "NCANOPY
- 2010" |
Canopy
- 2010, the exquisite nature club of MES College was
inaugurated by Dr. E A Jaison, Scientist, Kerala Forest
Research Institute, Peechi on 4th January 2010. Dr.
P A Fathima, principal of the college chaired the session.
The inaugurator talked about the importance of conservation
of flora and fauna. His class invigorated profoundly
in the young minds of "Canopians". Smt. Ally
C Antony welcomed the gathering. Sri. T S Sanjayan and
Sri. Annson Mathews delivered felicitations. Sri. Shafi
V A delivered the vote of thanks. |

Inauguration of Bioscience Association "Novissimos" |
Bioscience
Association 2009 was inaugurated by Sri. Vaheedudheen
Shanavas, Assistant Scientist, KSPCB, on 30th December
2009. The function was chaired by Dr. P.A. Fathima,
Principal of the College. In the inaugural speech Dr.
Shanavas pointed the importance of conserving nature
and various aspects of pollution. He also exhibited
various devices used to measure the pollution rate.
Dr. Umesh B T, Head of the Department, co-ordinated
the function with the support of all the faculty members
and students. |

Inauguration of English Association "Inspirazione
09" |
The
English Association for the year 2009-10, was inaugurated
by Dr.N. Prasanthakumar, Reader, Sree Sankaracharya
University of Sanskrit, on 8 December 2009. The event
was titled Inspirazione. The meeting was presided over
by Dr. P.A.Fathima, Principal. Dr.Muralikrishnan.T.R,
HOD Dept of English, Dr.Umesh B.T, HOD Dept of Bio Sciences,
Dr.Abdulla Beary spoke at the function. Mr.Sanjayan.T.S,
Lecturer welcomed the gathering and Mr.Anuranj R Nair
proposed vote of thanks. Later in the day the students
conducted various cultural programmes. |

MES College Teachers' Meet
on 14 February, 2009 |
Our college is
hosting the annual MES College Teachers' Meet this year
on 14th February. The meeting is a platform to create
a sense of togetherness among the staff members of various
MES Colleges. In this meeting, the retiring teachers,
staff members as well as the teachers who have been awarded
the PhD degree recently will be honoured.
Dr.Rajan Gurukal, Hon. Vice Chancellor, M.G.University,
Kottayam will inaugurate the Teachers' Meet and the meeting
will be presided by Dr. PA Fazal Ghafoor, State president,
MES, Kerala. |

sponsored National Seminar on "Emerging Trends
in e-Learning" on 20th and 21st March 2009.

for education will be mobile. What then are the implications
for existing technologies and what are the leading edge

"Tenetz 08-09" was inaugurated by Dr. Upot Sherine,
Professor in English, School of Distance Education, M.G.University
on 15th January 2009 in the College Conference Hall. The
meeting was presided over by Dr.P A Fathima, Pricipal,
MES College Marampally. Dr.Muralikrishnan TR, HOD, Dept.of
English, welcomed the gathering and Ms. Adila Simitha,

Ph.D Awarded |
Mr. Muralikrishnan T.R. has been awarded
Ph.D in Linguistics by the University
of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram in April, 2008. The title
of the thesis is 'Language and Power: A Study
on the Political Discourse Types'. He has submitted
the thesis to University of Kerala on 8th Feb 2007.
After valuation (3 reports) the Open Defence was conducted
on 31 March 2008. The Syndicate formally awarded the
doctorate degree on 29th April 2008.

Core Monitoring Audit 2006-07 |
The Core Monitoring Committee (CMC) shall
be visiting all departments from 12th March for academic
audit to identify the Best Department of the College for
the year 2006-07 based on their performance.

M.E.S College gets NAAC accreditation. |
M.E.S College Marampally has been accredited for a period
of five years with grade B (Institutional score between
70-75%). The Executive
committee of NAAC on 16/09/04 officially decided this.
The college had given its SSR early
this year and based on the SSR, a three member NAAC peer
team visited our college on 18/08/04 and 19/08/04.
