Emergency Response Team

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, which allows them to focus on more complex tasks. Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

Incidents or emergencies may be sudden and without warning.

MES College,Marampally has created the Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT or Campus CERT) in order to train students, staff, and faculty for both campuses and support emergency management in various situations. CERT members are trained in personal safety/preparedness, fire suppression and safety, light search and rescue, transporting and treating possible patients in order to provide the greatest good for the greatest number of people during a disaster. Outside of disaster preparedness CERT members participate in drills to keep their training up-to-date and may be involved in campus outreach to help prepare and inform the campus.

CERT will continue to monitor and coordinate events until the emergency situation is stabilized sufficiently to allow a return to regular organizational operation.
