M.E.S. College Marampally (Autonomous) was established in the year 1995 as a Government Aided college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The institution conferred autonomous status in 2025, marking a major milestone in its journey towards academic excellence and innovation. This autonomy facilitates the College to design and implement need-based curricula, adopt flexible academic frameworks, and further enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and research. The quality quest for excellence is benchmarked with NAAC A+ Grade (CGPA : 3.39), NIRF (201-200 band) and KIRF (Rank: 46) rankings.
The College is located in a rural area between the towns of Aluva and Perumbavoor. The campus, set in salubrious lush green surroundings is in close vicinity of the river Periyar and very near to the city of Kochi and the Cochin International Airport. The governance and the management of the college are anchored in the principles of Muslim Educational Society which is one of the largest minority educational trusts in Kerala.
M.E.S. College, Marampally facilitates new directions in higher education by offering a significant number of vocational and technical courses in tune with the demands of the job market. Seven vocational programmes were initiated in the College to bolster its mission statement “To promote higher and technical education.” The larger enrolment of girls and minority students authenticates the institutional commitment towards equity and inclusion. Quality education is imparted to improve the life standards of people in general, and of minorities and backward classes in particular.
The College offers seventeen undergraduate (Honours) programmes in job-oriented subjects such as BCA (AICTE approved), BBA (AICTE approved), B.Sc. Electronics with Computer Technology, B.Com Co-operation and Logistics Management, B.Com Finance and Taxation, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Microbiology, B.A. English, B.A. Arabic, B.Sc. Psychology, B.Voc. Logistics Management, B.Voc. Animation and Graphic Design, B.Voc. Software Development and System Administration, B.Voc. Industrial Instrumentation and Automation, B.Voc. Fashion Design and Management, B.Voc. Tourism Administration and Hospitality, and B.Voc. Advanced Course in Multi Sports & Fitness Training.
The College also offers Nine postgraduate programmes — M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Electronics, M.Com Finance and Taxation, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.A. English Language and Literature, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.A. (HRM) and M.Sc. Psychology. In addition, it provides an Integrated M.Sc. in Basic Sciences (Chemistry) and Ph.D. programmes in Biotechnology and Computer Science & Allied areas of Electronics.
Leadership commitment and stakeholder participation are the hallmarks of the Institution. Faculty members continuously engage in professional development to impart advanced knowledge to students. The physical infrastructure and human resources promote an ICT-enabled teaching-learning process and a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Parent Teacher Association, Alumni, and various clubs and forums work in tandem to instil academic excellence and humanistic values among students. The Institution gives due importance to integrating research with academic activities and ensures a dynamically symbiotic relationship between students and the neighbourhood community.
